THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO COMFORTABLE HEELS
Small Heels are so in right now and I’m totally here for it!!!
The quest for comfortable shoes can be a lifelong hunt for some of us gals. But realistically speaking, I’m in heels 70% of the time because I’m either at work or out at night during the weekend. Comfort is a huge factor when it comes to my style so I ditched the tall heels months ago.
I hadn’t worn tall heels in the longest freakin time and last weekend I decided to wear my new (and very high) Steve Madden shoes out. Oh my gosh…….I don’t miss that pain. It’s like instant blisters and ankle cramping. I had to take them off by the time I got back to my friends driveway and I can’t believe I was seriously that girl.
I swear I’m not a diva, but sleeping on a silk pillowcase is a total MUST.
The #1 reason why I switched from cotton to silk material was my hair. I’ve had a major rat’s nest on the back of my head for quite some time and it’s not very flattering. Honestly, I rarely brush my hair so it’s partly my fault.
Anyway, I toss & turn like a crazy person at night (apologies to my future husband in advance) and the cotton material kept pulling and tugging on my hair. The amount of knots I started getting was ridiculous. Hence the term rat’s nest. I know I’m dramatic but you have no idea how many rough mornings I’ve had and i’ve definitely lost more hair than I’ve needed to thanks to cotton.
Sleeping on silk feels like sleeping on a cloud because it won’t pull, stretch or tug on anything for that matter. So the knots and hair pulling don’t happen.
MIAMI SWIM WEEK 2019 RECAP
Miami Swim Week is basically a holiday for me.
I can’t even begin to explain how excited I was this year and it was all I could talk about for the month of July.
This year was really special for me because as I continue to grow as a blogger, my opportunity to attend these exclusive events only increases. It’s almost surreal to me, honestly. This isn’t to say that I’m some sort of IG hot shot, but it does inspire me to continue content creation.
If I had to pick between New York Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week, it’d be an easy & obvious choice for me. The energy in Miami Swim Week is so much more refreshing. NYFW is a lot of high fashion (both on the runway + the audience), while Swim Week is a little bit more laid back. Plus, it’s nice to see looks on the runway that i’d actually wear.
MY HAT OBSESSION (UNDER $50)
If you haven’t already noticed through my Instagram page, I absolutely adore hats. Mostly because I’m a total skincare freak and do what I can to avoid UV rays. Sun stains are real, okay.
I’d never take a trip to the beach without one of my large hats. They protect my face and make a super trendy accessory.
How many times has a hat saved me from a bad sunburn, bad hair day or boring outfit? way too many to count.
Finding the right hat can be a little bit difficult because a lot of stores sell them at a ridiculous price. Maybe I’m just a little realistic but if it’s over $50…I’m not buying it.
I’ve linked some hats I have in my collection as well as some other affordable options

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK ‘19
Hello Fashion Lovers!
NYFW, or New York Fashion Week is a semi-annual series of events showcasing international designer collections through runway shows and pop up shops. It was my greatest honor to have attended such a prestigious, exclusive event.
It was my second time at NYFW and luckily…I came a little more prepared this time. I’ll share the good, the bad and the ugly!
If you’re wondering how I was able to score an invite…just know it’s one of the perks that comes with writing about these kinds of things. But that doesn’t mean that only bloggers attend. Tickets to a few events are available on eventbrite.
First things first, outfit planning can be stressful. Especially if you aren’t used to the cold weather. I planned my outfit weeks in advance and was able to pull off a look that was warm yet still trendy.
There’s been quite the revolution in the beauty industry these days and brands are straying away from using harsh chemicals and are more likely to use Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD.
So let’s get this out of the way first. I was completely turned off by anything CBD infused because I hadn’t properly researched and assumed it was closely related to THC (the compound that causes the “high”).
I have never and will never take an interest in anything mind-altering or addicting. CBD is a totally safe & non-addictive substance known for its pain relief, anti-inflammatory properties and therapeutic profile. No harm in that.
