For weeks I've been hooked on Josie Maran's "Vibrancy" Foundation and I figured I would share my thoughts on it with you guys!
I was super hesitant on purchasing it because truthfully, I had never tried this brand and had never seen it at Sephora. I decided to move forward and buy it because Jaclyn Hill would not stop raving about it. Seeing as she is a huge makeup icon for many women, I figured her recommendations were trustworthy. "Vibrancy" retails for about $45 at Sephora (hidden in the back aisle) and online on Maran's website. Picking up the foundation, the first thing that caught my eye was the description written on the packaging. The foundation box says that "In a clinical study, After four weeks, 100 percent of subjects experienced a significant increase of skin moisture by 106 percent: 98 percent of subjects experienced a significant increase of skin smoothness and softness by 111 percent: In a consumer study, 93 percent agreed Vibrancy helped visibly calm their skin condition, specifically scarring, inflammation and rosacea." Sooo what does all of this mean? From what I understand from the description and ingredients, "Vibrancy" is proven to hydrate skin because of the argan oil ingredient used. These facts automatically surprised me because I am typically not familiar with any other foundation that is "good" for skin.
Besides the adorable colorful packaging, there are so many things about this foundation I absolutely love. Vibrancy applies on the skin so smoothly, almost feeling like silk! It is not as lightweight as a skin tint, but is not as heavy as a full coverage foundation. The foundation is pretty much medium coverage (although it feels so much lighter). I find that the best way to apply it, is by using at least two pumps. I apply it with my finger in most areas and blend it all in with a stippling brush. After using a brush, I always use my Beauty Blender or Real Techniques sponge to gently dab, removing any brush streaks or excess product.
The finish of the foundation is mostly dewy/sheer. It makes my skin look so vibrant (hence the name) and alive, while still looking natural and healthy compared to other foundations I have previously used. A lot of foundations I am familiar with really bring out my under eye and smile wrinkles (and I'm only 20!). The product pretty much lasts all day with or without a primer. Typically, I am not a huge fan of primers and find that they don't always a dramatic difference. The only strange thing about the foundation is its clay-like scent. It is not necessarily disturbing, but is not appealing either.
I would 100 percent recommend this foundation to a friend for an "every day" type of look. I appreciate that the brand has gone the extra mile to add in healthy ingredients to radiant the skin. I hope this review gives you guys a little more detail on the product and I hope you all love it as much as I do!
