Because I’ll be traveling in Europe for two weeks, I've decided to share my little guide on what makeup I find best to travel with.
Pack light, (try to) avoid liquids and use long lasting products!
1. Bare Minerals Prime Time Primer
Think of the long days where you’ll be site seeing and touring for hours. The goal is to keep your makeup looking flawless all day long. Using a primer will set your face for foundation. In other words, it’ll make any makeup look last so much longer.
2. Make Up Forever Foundation Stick
Like I said, try to avoid liquid products as much as you can. You never know what could happen inside your luggage and the last thing you need is a foundation spill (nightmare!)
Foundation sticks are comfortable & easy to apply because they’re not necessarily a liquid. Think of a large smooth crayon. Make Up Forever’s Foundation Stick has been my go-to for all my travels and has proved to me how long lasting it can actually be.
3. Tarte – Shape Tape Concealer
Best concealer to ever exist. That is all.
4. Laura Mercier’s Travel Size Translucent Powder
Not totally necessary because Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer is that good. If you have the extra space, take it! I use translucent powder because it truly gives me a porcelain doll skin effect and keeps my concealer intact.
I recommend the travel size as opposed to the full size because of its large and messy packaging.
5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder
The only brow product I ever use! It will literally last me from morning to night. Not to mention its tiny size will fit in any makeup travel bag
6/7 Tartelette in Bloom Palette and Balm Jovi Palette
Moving on to the eyes….picking the perfect eye shadow palette to bring is always the toughest decision for me. For this trip I have decided to take two small palettes that will allow me to create endless looks for my 12 day trip. The first palette is the Tartelette in Bloom palette by Tarte that has light and dark mattes plus three shimmer shades. I’ll use the dark mattes for my “night time” eye looks. The next palette I’ll be packing is the Balm Jovi Palette by The Balm. This palette has recently become one of my faves! It has a mix of silver, gold, olive, purple and brown. It also includes a blush and a highlight (which are super bomb!)
8. Revlon Liquid Eyeliner
Easy to pack, easy to apply and lasts all day!
9. Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer
Not only has this bronzer been a ride-or-die for me for years, but its size is completely perfect for trips. I pick Hoola over my Kat Von D Contour Palette because carrying so many palettes can become a little extra and annoying.
10/11 L’Oreal’s Telescopic Mascara VS Maybelline’s The Falsies Volume Express Waterproof Mascara
If you’re going somewhere tropical (or extremely humid) pack a waterproof mascara. Maybelline’s mascara has left me completely speechless when it comes to waterproof products. It does not come off. Besides because of its long lasting wear, it is my absolute favorite mascara because of the full lash effect it gives. I obviously do not use this on a daily basis because it is so hard to take off.
For any other places that may not be as tropical, my mascara of choice is always L’oreal’s Telescopic because its thin brush allows for me to apply product on every single lash.
12. Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey Highlight
Not my favorite highlight…but it’s quite travel size friendly and gets the job done. It works best when used with a wet brush.
I plan on mixing Gilded Honey and the highlight shade from the Balm Jovi palette for that extra glow.
13. And finally… NYX Setting Spray!
Again, the goal is for the makeup to last all day long. With a couple of sprays I’m ready for some long hours of site seeing!
Can't wait to update you guys on my trip!
