Me again! Giving you another reason to spend your $$$$$ on a random ass product.
It wasn’t until another blogger posted an Instagram story about how ~ obsessed ~ she was with her new face steamer when I immediately thought, why the hell don’t I have a face steamer? * proceeds to order *
Not quite though. The Sephora face steamer she posted was $150. I mean, I am ALL for splurging on skincare. but a steamer? no.
I remember when my sister and I were younger we’d create this little “tent” where we’d boil water and hold our faces nearby with a towel draped over — all for steam. That’s some serious 90s sh*t . Clearly my skincare regimen has modernized over the years.
So here’s where Amazon comes in to save the day, yet again. I ordered this particular steamer because it is shaped just like the pricey Sephora product, it was only $26, it had awesome reviews and oh… it’s pink!
A lot of you might be wondering, what the heck is a face steamer…..? Well, it’s a steamer. for your face.
Have you ever cooked a plate of pasta? you know when you lean over the boiling water and feel your pores open up? That’s what a face steamer does.
If you’re big on skincare like me, you’ll love using a steamer because it’ll make the products you normally use work 10 times better. Since the steam is opening up your pores, your skin is REALLY absorbing your skincare products.
Basically, this is great for clogged skin. Using the Pixi Glow Mud Mask right after steaming will immediately eliminate blackheads like magic.
a few things to take note of…
+The obvious: a steamer opens up and cleanses your pores
+You should only use a steamer 2-3 times a week
+You can make it a little more fun & mix in essential oils (eucalyptus)
+Only steam for 7-10 minutes
+Use the steamer once you’ve already washed your face. Do not use if you have make up on.
+The steamer might smell like plastic the first 1-3 uses
+Make sure you’re using CLEAN beauty products. Some brands use harsh toxins that eventually end up in your bloodstream. Since this is basically intensifying your skincare products, go the “clean beauty” route. A few clean & safe brands are: Farmacy Beauty, Pixi Beauty , Herbivore and The Ordinary (review on The Ordinary coming real soon!)
