I’m back with some more updates on my trip to Santorini, Greece. After a nine hour ferry ride, we finally made it to the island I had been so eager to visit for years.
Santorini was hands down my favorite island because it was everything I imagined it would be.
Literally every building is completely white, giving off a fresh modern look.
During my time on the island, we stayed at a small beautiful resort called the Infinity Collection. The hotel itself was perfect because it was only about 8 rooms making their customer service amazing. The rooms were large and comfortable enough for two people. Everything in the room was completely white and modern. My mom seriously does an incredible job at picking hotels. The best part was that they would bring us breakfast to our rooms every morning!
The first location we visited in Santorini was called Fira. There were a ton of little shops that had clothing, accessories, gift items, shoes and so much more. There were also so many restaurants and stops that made the perfect background for a picture.
In Fira there are about 600 large steps that take you to different shops. In case you get tired, donkey rides are offered that cost about 5 euros.
My only tip: watch where you step!
To get around the island most people walk, take a taxi/bus, or rent ATVs. I found that the ATVs were a little more difficult/dangerous, so we chose to get around by walking and taking the bus. The bus was definitely the best option because it was only 2 euros per person!
It took us to Red Beach which was the kind of beach I was definitely not used to. It had large red cliffs and a rocky path. I wouldn’t say it was the kind of place where I wanted to sit down to tan. To get to the water, we had to take a mini hike which wasn’t all that bad. However, I would not recommend going in flip flops because it is very easy to slip and fall. There was no sand but more small pebbles to walk on. Red Beach was definitely worth it because of the beautiful nature scenery, but I wouldn’t recommend going if you were looking for a place to sit back and relax.
After Red Beach, we headed back to the central area of Santorini to get a better taste of the island. Of course we had heard all about the fish pedicures and had to try it. We went to a place called Dr. Fish Spa. For 10 minutes in the tank we paid 15 euros which personally, I found a little pricey. But then again, we were on vacation so why not! The place has three different deals (one including a glass of wine!)
The pedicure itself was definitely more ticklish than I thought it'd be.
I would 100% say that Santorini has been my favorite place I've traveled to so far! I definitely see myself going again in a few years with some friends
